O’Duffy’s Tavern, Kalamazoo’s only real Irish pub, is just the place to enjoy some quality beers, laugh and share with friends and co-workers and perhaps have a light bite.
Located two blocks west of historic Chenery Auditorium on the corner of Vine and Locust, O’Duffy’s Tavern shares the 110-year-old building at 804 W. Vine St. with Cosmo’s Cucina, which has been housed upstairs since 1992. O’Duffy’s Tavern occupies the first floor.
Of course, O’Duffy’s carries Guinness Stout; indeed, it was the first pub in Southwestern Michigan to receive a Guinness Gold Standard Pint Award for having mastered the three-step process of properly pouring a Guinness. But O’Duffy’s carries other Irish favorites: Harp Lager, Smithwick’s Irish Ale, Wexford Irish Cream Ale and Arcadia Brigid’s Irish Red, amongst others. O’Duffy’s carries quite a few imported brews from around the world.
But O’Duffy’s does not live by beer alone! You can grab various types of hamburgers ($6.59–$7.59), a hot dog, some appetizers or a boxty, O’Duffy’s Tavern’s own take on the traditional Irish dish of mashed potatoes and green onions, this time served with their mushroom and dried cherry ragout ($6.99). You can check out the menu here.
Every year on St. Patrick’s Day, O’Duffy’s Tavern hosts an all-day buffet from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
O’Duffy’s Tavern is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 3 p.m. to midnight, and the pub closes one hour later, at 1 a.m., on Friday. Saturday’s hours are 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. The pub is closed on Sunday and Monday.
HelloMetro Tip: O’Duffy’s Tavern has been smoke-free since it opened in 1999.
